3G Write for Us
Introduction
3G telecommunication networks support services with data transfer rates of at least 144 kbit/s. Later 3G releases, often denoted as 3.5G and 3.75G, also provide smartphones and mobile modems in laptop computers with mobile broadband access of several Mbit/s. This ensures that it can be used for wireless voice calls, mobile Internet access, fixed wireless Internet access, video calls, and mobile TV.

History of Mobile Telephony
The first-generation (1G) standard got its start in the early 1980s, with network providers commercially deploying Advanced Mobile Phone Service (AMPS) cellular networks. Initially, AMPS networks used frequency division multiple access (FDMA) to transmit analogue voice over channels in the 800 megahertz (MHz) frequency band using radio access technology.
When mobile operators deployed two competing digital voice standards in the 1990s, the second-generation (2G) standard emerged. Some operators in North America implemented Interim Standard 95 (IS-95), which used code division multiple access (CDMA) technologies to multiplex up to 64 calls per channel in the 800 MHz band. Many operators around the world used the GSM standard, which used time division multiple access (TDMA) to multiplex up to eight calls per channel in the 900 and 1,800 MHz bands.
